Birthday month!

Happy Birthday Laurent!  Happy Birthday Nana Laura!  Happy Birthday America!

July has arrived and we are halfway through our vacation.  Summer has finally arrived in France.  We're enjoying more visits from our American friends, with visits from our French friends living in America coming up next!

Earlier this week we all got to watch the Tour de France speed past us on the roads of Grasse.  This is the third year that the tour has gone past the house of Laurent's college friend.  It was the perfect way to see it live.  The street was closed to traffic, so really there was no one along the road except for friends and neighbors.  No crazy crowds, no crazy drunk Germans.  Hahaha.

Today we took Theo and Sophie to the swimming pool in Levens, where Laurent and his sisters spent their summers.  It's probably the equivalent of the Sunnyside swimming pool for us Au-Yeungs!  They left with big smiles on their faces, super success!  But sorry, no photos.

Lots of photos of various small moments captured over the past few weeks though.  Super precious.  Theo and Sophie are hurdling through milestones day after day -- this is such an amazing period of development in their lives.  What I am loving most is that their personalities are continuing to emerge, completely unfiltered.  It's even better getting to watch them adapt in the presence of each other.  I can imagine that intense and complex interplay is developing between them.  I can't wait until they are older so I can ask them questions about it!

Love.

Sophie likes to give kisses to herself in the mirror.

She is such the little peanut!

This is how Sophie sits.

Typical breakfast for the American in France!  Cafe creme, pain au chocolat, AND if you find a good bar tabac, a tall cold glass of water.

Lots of sponsor give-aways and goofiness goes on for the Tour de France.  This is in Nice along the Promende des Anglais.

"Cochon" means pig.  You can figure out for yourselves what product is being advertised.

A playful moment between brother and sister.

This MacLaren stroller has been the most fantastic piece of equipment.

My sleeping beauties...

Sophie does pull ups!

She is going to be walking soon!

Sweet morning moment between Mamy Lily and Sophie.

  1. Les jumeaux sont super mimi! Love that picture of them hard at work on their sleep. I can't believe they are on their feet already.

    1. Sophie has had her first "climb" already! She stands next to the high chair and stepped up onto one of the rungs the other day. Two hands gripping, one foot on a rung, the other foot dangling in the air... she just looked at me and smiled.
